2026 Vintage Report
The 2026 vintage started on 9 February with hand picking the Chardonnay and finished on 12 March with the final picks of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
2026 was our lowest yielding vintage on record, with only 36 tonnes harvested in total. We think this was due to a particularly cool period during the spring of 2025 when the vines were flowering. While the growing season was very good, and ripening conditions close to ideal, all varieties were down and the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon yields were particularly low. On the positive side, fruit quality is excellent and the resulting wines are looking great. As a result of the low yields, we have prioritised making good quantities of Chardonnay, Silver Lining Crémant, Sauvignon Blanc and Aurora Pétillant Naturel, and not made any SSB or Rosé for this vintage.
As the vineyard settles into dormancy we have been planting mid row cover crops and putting out a bit of extra nutrition to help the vines bounce back in the next growing season.
